Gaming is a skill, it is a type of sports. But this was not true in Bangladesh.

Here, E-Sports is extremely hated by the parents, especially people from the millennials and older generations. This is not only a problem in Bangladesh, but also a problem worldwide. When the parents see their children playing video games, they scold their children and often beats them. Also they say that playing video games is a waste of time and it is very harmful and addictive. While this is true in a one sense, it is also true that gaming is a skill and it is also a way of refreshment and recreation.

There are some reasons why the parents don't support E-Sports. First, they are newly introduced to technology. So, they don't understand it's functionality well. Many of them think that device is just a bane for human being. Also they have spent their leisure time by playing in the field in their childhood. These people when see their children playing video games instead of playing in the field, they get disappointed.

E-Sports has many benefits and opportunities. It can make a child improve his creativity and problem solving skills. Sometimes E-Sports tournaments are launched where many gamers participate and showcase their skills. Also they can win prizes. Also gamers can record and livestream their gameplay and upload it to popular streaming platforms. Gaming videos are the most viewed category of videos watched on YouTube. So, gamers can earn a good amount of cash from the platforms. Also they can get popularity. People can play games to only pass their leisure time. A part from the gamers become game developers at a time and makes his career working with the gaming companies and they get a good amount of salary. Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Atari, Nintendo, Rockstar games etc are the most popular companies known for games where many game developers are currently working.

Recently, the interim government of Bangladesh has took a groundbreaking step about E-Sports. The ministry of youth and sports of Bangladesh recognized E-Sports as a type of sport.

Gaming itself is not harmful. Parental guidance and advisory is the most crucial. So, the parents should properly guide their children and change their perspective.
